This project focuses on creating two dynamic dashboards in Tableau aimed at empowering stakeholders, including sales managers and executives, to analyze sales performance and customer trends.
Sales Dashboard
Dashboard Purpose
The Sales Dashboard provides an overview of sales metrics and trends to help analyze year-over-year sales performance and understand key sales trends.
Key Requirements
- KPI Overview: Display total sales, profits, and quantity for the current and previous years.
- Sales Trends:
- Present monthly KPI data for the current and previous years.
- Highlight months with the highest and lowest sales.
- Product Subcategory Comparison: Compare sales and profit performance by product subcategories for the current and previous years.
- Weekly Trends for Sales & Profit:
- Show weekly sales and profit data for the current year.
- Highlight weeks above and below the average weekly values.
Customer Dashboard
Dashboard Purpose
The Customer Dashboard provides insights into customer data, trends, and behaviors, helping the marketing team and management improve customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements
- KPI Overview: Display total customers, total sales per customer, and the total number of orders for the current and previous years.
- Customer Trends:
- Show monthly trends for each KPI for the current and previous years.
- Highlight months with the highest and lowest sales.
- Customer Distribution by Number of Orders: Visualize the distribution of customers based on order count to assess loyalty and engagement.
- Top 10 Customers by Profit:
- Showcase the top 10 customers by profit with additional details like rank, number of orders, current sales and profit, and the last order date.
Design & Interactivity Requirements
- Dynamic Dashboards:
- Enable users to explore historical data by selecting any year.
- Allow seamless navigation between dashboards.
- Interactive Charts: Enable filtering directly through charts and graphs.
- Data Filters: Provide filters for product categories, subcategories, and geographic details like region, state, and city.
Implementation Overview
The dashboards were designed using Tableau, following a structured approach:
- Analyzing Requirements: Collecting requirements, choosing the right charts, and planning color schemes and mockups.
- Building the Data Source: Connecting data, creating models, and ensuring data quality.
- Building Charts and Dashboards: Creating calculated fields, applying formatting, and designing an interactive layout.
